Becky S. James
Becky James is a native of San Luis Obispo County, with over 30 years of legal experience. She is an Of Counsel attorney with EAG, where she practices employment litigation, performs internal investigations, and handles employment law appellate matters.
Prior to practicing law in the private sector, Ms. James was a federal prosecutor. She was an Assistant United States Attorney for over 12 years and served as Chief and Deputy Chief of the General Crimes Section and Chief of the Criminal Appeals Section of the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles. Ms. James has been selected as a Super Lawyer for 2011 – 2013, and 2015 – 2023.
Originally from Arroyo Grande, Ms. James earned her A.B. in Political Science at Stanford University, where she went on to earn her juris doctorate. Following law school, Ms. James clerked for the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the State Bar of California and the State Bar of Texas. Ms. James is also licensed to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all federal district courts in California.
In addition to her law practice with EAG, Ms. James maintains a separate practice in San Antonio Texas, where she concentrates on white collar criminal defense and appeals. [link]
